Job Summary:

The Senior Strategic Planner is a seasoned professional serving as the primary point of contact for designated accounts while also contributing to new business initiatives. This role demands proficient planning capabilities encompassing facilitation, research, workshop support, project brief creation, and competitive analysis. Excellent storytelling and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively. Additionally, the Senior Strategic Planner must adeptly handle internal and client inquiries regarding agency perspectives and recommendations. This position requires a self-motivated individual capable of collaborative work across diverse teams. The Senior Strategic Planner will engage in complex strategic projects, offer guidance to clients, and actively participate in new business development.

Essential Functions

  • Brand Planning:

  • Execute strategic discipline, agency processes, and adhere to pharmaceutical compliance regulations.

  • Collect pertinent customer insights, comprehend disease states, and translate them into brand strategies.

  • Enhance storytelling abilities, particularly in written strategy development and tactical planning through project brief formulation.

  • Client Management:

  • Prepare for client workshops and enhance facilitation skills.

  • Increase exposure to client interactions and meetings.

  • Develop proficiency in addressing internal and client inquiries regarding agency perspectives and recommendations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal brand teams, fostering positive team dynamics.

  • Refine the skill to distill complex information into concise summaries and develop strong viewpoints.

    Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Apply foundational understanding of strategic planning fundamentals to assigned brands, including disease states, indications, and customer dynamics.

  • Serve as the primary strategic planning contact for internal teams on key accounts, expanding client exposure.

  • Utilize strategic processes, agency structure, and pharmaceutical marketing guidelines effectively.

  • Lead market research on smaller projects and support larger projects with facilitation, research design, interviewing, and insight reporting.

  • Translate market, competition, and customer insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Independently manage social listening monitoring and analysis.

  • Lead client workshop preparation, moderate breakout groups, and capture key takeaways

  • Participate in and contribute to internal/client meetings and generate output reports.

  • Expand strategy skills to include campaign briefs, positioning targets, and tactical planning.

  • Support and provide informal coaching to interns.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in brand strategy or market research preferred.
